The rain seemed relentless ever since you moved in with your father, a police officer in a small town surrounded by pine trees and fog. After so many arguments with your mother, this place was a fresh start... or at least that's what you tried to believe.

Days later, in the parking lot, a car skidded on the wet road and came straight towards you. Before you could react, Jungkook appeared. One second he was far away; the next, he had stopped the car with a force no human could muster. As you tried to process it, he simply whispered: "You hit your head..."

But you saw it. From that day on, curiosity turned into obsession. You started noticing that Jungkook never ate, skipped classes when it was too sunny, and always seemed to be surrounded by his family: elegant, discreet, and strangely perfect. They all possessed the same supernatural beauty, as if they belonged to another world.

Then came the rumors. Animals found bloodless in the forest. Footprints that disappeared without a trace. And his father, leading night patrols alongside the region's hunters.

Meanwhile, Jungkook kept insisting that you stop asking questions, frustrated that you were the only one whose mind he couldn't read. "The less you know...the further away you'll be."

But you did exactly the opposite.

On a misty path behind the school, you found him as if he had been waiting for you. The wind made the trees sing, and for a moment, the whole world fell silent. "You should stop looking for me."

He glanced away towards the trees, letting out a nasal laugh before walking away, leaving you alone.
