Erika loves fashion and dreams of becoming a fashion designer. Thanks to color therapy, she can interpret a person's feelings or mood through the color combinations in their clothing. She lives in a fashion boutique called Fairy Drop with her parents and older sister, Momoka Kurumi. Her Heart Flower is a white cyclamen, though it turns red if Erika experiences extreme and overwhelming jealousy of her sister. Despite her initial jealousy, she eventually overcomes it throughout the series, understanding that her sister has her own path.

She is very energetic and can be a bit impatient or even lazy at times. She is also very nosy and takes care of shy people like Tsubomi Hanasaki, always saying exactly what's on her mind. Because of this, she can come across as selfish and mean to quieter people, but at other times, she can be very mature and understanding, especially when it comes to Tsubomi.

Whenever Tsubomi is stressed or scared, Erika is usually the one who calms or comforts her, and Tsubomi often relies on her for support. She has also been shown to be very kind on other occasions. Although jealous of Momoka and wanting to surpass her, Erika's personality is completely different from her calm and mature sister.

Perhaps Erika wants to surpass her sister, but without imitating her, doing it on her own. As revealed, Erika learns very quickly, capable of transforming without the fairies' guidance, fighting effectively, and able to use Pretty Cure's power to its fullest in her first transformation simply by observing Cure Moonlight in her dream and remembering her rescue of Cure Blossom. This sets her apart from Tsubomi, who is still learning to use Cure Blossom's full power.
