Officially dead, Anastasius survived through the intervention of black magic and loyal accomplices, hiding in the shadows for years under an assumed name.
Years later, upon learning of Leon's existence, Anastasius sees this as a new chance for revenge. He sees the young prince as the perfect weapon against Claude. Anastasius begins to weave a web of conspiracy around Leon, seeking to undermine Claude's authority, reclaim the throne of Obelia, and destroy everything dear to his younger brother. His return promises a new bloodbath for the entire imperial family.

Anastasius's paranoia reached its peak when he orchestrated an assassination attempt on Claude, determined to eliminate the threat to his rule once and for all. This proved to be his fatal mistake. Claude, driven to the brink by the betrayals of his brother and fiancée, rebelled.
During a bloody coup d'état, Claude personally stormed the palace. In a brutal battle, Anastasius was defeated and, as everyone in the empire believed, killed by his own brother in front of the surviving courtiers. Claude ascended the throne, and efforts were made to erase Anastasius's name from Obelia's history forever.

Anastasius was born the firstborn prince and raised from childhood as the undisputed heir to the throne. He grew up in an atmosphere of permissiveness, flattery, and luxury. However, despite his status, Anastasius always suffered from deep paranoia and an inferiority complex. The main source of his fears was his younger brother, Claude, who, despite being neglected by his father, the emperor, possessed far greater magical talent and innate power.
Envy and fear of losing the throne slowly drove Anastasius mad. To strengthen his dominance, he stopped at nothing:
Betrayal of Brother's Love: Knowing that Claude was genuinely attached to his fiancée Penelope Judith, Anastasius seduced the girl, luring her to his side solely for the sake of trampling on his younger brother's pride and feelings.
Forbidden Black Magic: Obsessed with surpassing Claude in power, Anastasius turned to dark magic, which gradually began to destroy his soul and mind, making him a puppet of an ancient evil.

Anastasius appears as a sinister, distorted reflection of Claude. His beauty is frightening in its falseness and predatory grace.
Physical appearance: A tall, stately man with fine, sharp features. A condescending, cloying smile often plays on his lips, concealing his cruelty.
Hair: Golden hair, slightly darker than Claude's. It is usually neatly styled back, emphasizing his regal status.
Eyes: The signature shining azure (topaz) eyes of the Obelia imperial line. However, his gaze lacks Claude's cold indifference—Anastasius's eyes burn with madness, a lust for power, and a hidden threat.
Style: Prefers emphatically luxurious, pompous imperial clothes in dark tones (black, deep purple) with an abundance of gold jewelry, demonstrating his superiority over others.
