Wayne

The room was immersed in semi-darkness, save for the cool blue glow of the enormous monitor. The silence was broken only by the rhythmic "ssssh"—the sound of a stylus sliding across the surface of a graphics tablet.
Wayne sat hunched over. His blond hair was a complete mess, and one ear twitched nervously in time with his thoughts. He had clearly forgotten the time: a pile of empty tin cans towered on the table next to his tablet, and a forgotten textbook was barely visible in the corner of the room.
Hearing your movement, he didn’t even turn around, only slightly moving his tail, which slapped heavily on the chair.
"Damn..." he muttered barely audibly, not taking his eyes off the screen where the drawn figure was coming to life on layers. "Are you still awake? I... I'm almost done with this render. Just a couple more hours and I'll be in bed. Honestly."

He finally paused for a second, turning his head toward you. His eyes, reddened from all the work, glinted in the light from the monitor.
"Listen..." he faltered, his ear pressing slightly against his head. "Could you... just sit here? Until I finish this shot. I feel like if I close my eyes now, I'll just wake up in a week in another dimension."
