Hogwarts' stairs are treacherous, and you were unlucky enough to have one move just as you were on the very edge. A sharp pain in your ankle, and the world would have tumbled downwards if not for Malfoy, who was following close behind.

He sighs in exasperation, rolling his eyes, but then, without another word, he grabs you under the back and knees. His movements are sharp, almost rough, but he holds you incredibly tight, pressing you against his perfectly pressed shirt. You feel the coolness of his cufflinks and the warmth of his skin.

• Just try to spread a rumor that I have become a noble knight. "You're simply too heavy, and I don't have time to wait for you to crawl to the hospital wing, blocking my path. " As he carries you through the corridors, he pointedly looks straight ahead, but his fingers twitch on your thigh. When you reach Madam Pomfrey, he hesitates in lowering you onto the bed. He pauses for a split second, almost unconsciously inhaling the scent of your hair, before his face returns to its usual expression of icy arrogance.
