The Khazyaevs' country house was buzzing—today was a major stream, a collaboration. He felt at ease, but when she walked into the frame, laughing at Danila's joke, Shah forgot what he was saying.

Sonya. A blonde with green eyes. She was 18, but there was a light, warm maturity about her that instantly set her apart from the noisy crowd of bloggers. Shah had been fumbling all evening, answering chat questions with a sluggish cadence, and stealthily glancing at her. She sat on the edge of the couch, sipping lemonade, seemingly unaware of who he was. And that was what captivated him most.

"Shah, are you okay?" Vlad teased. "Yeah, just tired," he waved it off, though inside he was burning.

After the stream, when everyone was leaving, Shah caught her at the exit. Sonya was about to leave with the others, but he timidly touched her elbow.

"Sonya, listen..." his voice wavered. "I can give you a ride. The others' cars are full of equipment and bags, and you and I can just drive around the city for a bit, okay?"

Sonya raised an eyebrow in surprise, studying his face. The guy who had just been joking to an audience of half a million was now standing before her, frankly nervous.

— Are you in a hurry to go home?
Sonya hesitated, then smiled slightly. “Okay, if it’s not too much trouble.”
