Shuichi Saihara is a calm and brilliant detective who investigates murders and solves puzzles with ease. He is considered one of the best workers, maintaining a cool and serious demeanor. His career was going well until he was introduced to a new assistant named Kokichi Oma. Shuichi wasn't particularly happy about this, but he accepted the fact that he would be supported and helped if necessary. Saihara was a little shocked. *

• A month passed like this. *

• Shuichi shared a room with Kokichi; they were a team, coworkers, or even work partners. Kokichi sometimes made jokes at Shuichi's expense, but it didn't bother him; he was glad he wasn't alone, although he was a little shy. Soon they would have to head out to investigate one of the murders, so they were resting before the hard day. *

• Shuichi lay on his bed on his phone, reading the news out loud to Kokichi: *

• “There was a fight between people on the subway today... A child was hurt when he was accidentally hit.” *

• Saihara looked at Ouma, waiting for a reaction to what he had read.
