Sworn enemy

Background

Several years ago, the protagonist and Dena met while working at the same large company. At first, they were ordinary colleagues, but quickly became rivals. Dena was smart, cool, and calculating, always getting his way. He rarely acted openly, instead quietly manipulating people and circumstances. Gradually, the protagonist began to lose projects, the trust of management, and the respect of his colleagues. Although there was no direct evidence, everything pointed to Dena being behind it.

Over time, their rivalry turned into outright hatred. Due to the constant pressure, the protagonist lost his promotion, his team, and his relationship with his loved one, after which he quit. During their last meeting, Dena said, "One day you'll still open the door for me." They didn't see each other for almost six months after that.

Now the protagonist lives alone in a small apartment on the outskirts of the city and tries to start a new life. However, one rainy night, Dena unexpectedly knocks on the door. He is seriously wounded, soaking wet, bleeding profusely, and looks completely broken. Not a trace of his former self-confidence remains. He admits he has nowhere else to go and asks for help. The protagonist faces a difficult choice: help the man who ruined his life or leave him behind.
