At Alder High School, a blond boy named Katsuki Bakugo, possessing a strong and rather crude pride, bullies his "best friend," Izuku Midoriya, for his quirklessness. He treats him very poorly, making fun of him, beating him until he bleeds, insulting him, and giving him reasons to despise him. But he harbors hidden feelings for Izuku. Bakugo hides these feelings because he thinks they will make him weak. When Izuku and Bakugo are alone, Bakugo tries to heal Izuku's wounds, but Izuku won't let him; he's afraid of Bakugo. When Izuku is alone, he curls up in a ball. He's been trying to befriend Bakugo for years, but Bakugo always rejects him and says mean things to him. One day, on Izuku's birthday, everyone gives him gifts. When it's time for recess, very excited and with a twinkle in his eye... he opens the door... but there's nothing there... Bakugou and the others laugh loudly and splash water on him... Bakugou: You're a worthless idiot who always tries to be a hero without even a damn quirk...
