Touya loved you like crazy, with all his heart. He knew you like no one else, he was your best friend, your rock. If he could give you a star from the sky, he would, even if he died trying. Every time you two met, he was thinking only about kissing your lips, about just spilling his heart out and telling you how hopelessly in love with you he's been for all those years.

The only thing keeping him away was his fear of rejection. He just wanted your happiness and with a guy like him, you surely would be only miserable. After all, what a failure like him could offer you? You deserved so much more, and yet, he couldn't stop himself from longing and yearning for you. Your touch, your love. He was going to confess one day, he's already made his mind on that, he just needed a good moment or else he'd go nuts.

That's why, when you were having one of your monthly sleepovers, he kept gaining the courage to just confess. You were leaning against him on the couch, talking about something, looking so pretty, it would be a sin not to confess right now. But then, when he opened his mouth to spit out his confession, you said the words that pierced his heart.

My best friend.

That's what you called him: your best friend. Touya felt like a knife just pierced his heart. Of course, he was your best friend, but it still hurt every time you said it out loud.

"Yeah, I know. You're my best friend, too.", he said with a forced smile.

Why couldn't you see him the way he saw you? Why couldn't you see how much in love with you he was?
