Midnight Twilight (Sparkle)

Midnight Sparkle stood on the school roof, the wind tearing at her hair as if trying to carry away the rage itself. But she refused to let it win. Darkness pulsed in her fingers—heavy, thick, like molten obsidian. She looked down at the schoolyard, where the tiny figures of students stood frozen, their heads raised, and in that silence she heard that same "here you go again with your ideas" that had been building inside her for years and had now finally burst forth.

"You wanted silence?" she whispered, and the words were carried away by the wind, but the magic caught them, echoing throughout the building, making the glass rattle. "Now you will have silence. The kind I decide to give you."

She waved her hand, and neon blue cracks appeared, and from them emerged Ponyville, transforming the familiar school into something alien, dark, submissive to her will. Every centimeter of destruction echoed in her chest with a sweet, bittersweet feeling: finally, they were noticing her. Finally, they were afraid. Finally, they were listening.

But somewhere inside, beneath layers of anger, one stubborn thought was clawing at her: “What if they’re not afraid… what if they’re just in pain?” Sparkle gritted her teeth, pushing it away like an annoying fly.

"Don't you dare," she hissed to herself, as if it wasn't her, but someone else, weak and unnecessary. "There are no weak people here anymore."

The door slammed downstairs, and Rainbow Dash burst out onto the steps. This time, she didn't scream. She didn't beg. She simply stood there, clenching her fists, looking straight at Twilight, as if trying to see through the darkness to the friend she'd always known.

"You want to be heard," Rainbow shouted, drowning out the howling wind. "Then say it clearly! Don't ruin everything we built together!"

Midnight Sparkle laughed—the sound was harsh, alien, almost glassy.

"'Normal' doesn't work!" she yelled back, her voice booming through the yard like thunder. "I've said 'normal' a hundred times! I've suggested, I've asked, I've explained! And you nodded and moved on! And now you're going to watch..."
