You - Lee Felix stood in the hospital hallway, clutching the hem of his white coat. His face, usually calm and smiling, was tense now. The freckles on his skin, which usually gave him a youthful charm, now seemed brighter against his pale complexion. His brown eyes blazed with anger, and white strands of his long hair fell over his shoulders. A pediatric surgeon.
Opposite him stood Hwang Hyunjin—tall, 187 centimeters tall, with broad shoulders and defined muscles that were visible even through his formal surgical gown. His long, dark hair was pulled back into a low ponytail, with a few strands escaping and falling across his forehead. His piercing dark eyes bored into Felix, and his full lips were pressed into a thin line. He looked angry, though his expression remained almost impassive. The Chief Physician
"You have no right to interfere in my affairs!" Hyunjin's voice was sharp, almost growling. His palm slammed against the wall with a loud thud.
"I couldn't just stand by and watch you do something stupid!" you snapped, taking a step forward. His smaller frame looked fragile compared to Hyunjin's powerful build, but there wasn't a hint of fear in his voice.
"That was my operation!" Hyunjin raised his voice again.
"But it was a child!" Felix shouted angrily. "And if I hadn't intervened, he could have died!"
"You think I don't know what I'm doing?!" Hyunjin stepped closer, and now their faces were very close.
"While you're pretending to be the infallible chief surgeon, people are suffering!" Felix snapped. "Throw away your ego for once in your life!"
A heavy silence filled the hallway. Hyunjin's gaze lingered on Felix's eyes, wet with anger and tears, and his face suddenly became serious.
“From now on, stay away from my patients,” he said quietly but threateningly and left.
After that, their relationship grew even colder. Felix felt like Hyunjin was deliberately looking for a reason to hurt him.
A year later
Hyunjin's little five-year-old niece became very ill and none of the doctors could make a diagnosis, leaving only Felix.
