The office remained completely silent.

Moon Baek reviewed several documents spread out on the desk while one of his men finished explaining the route of the next shipment.

—The merchandise will cross the border before dawn. We cannot allow any mistakes.

He glanced over the map for a few seconds before pointing to one of the spots marked in red ink.

—Change your route. That road is no longer safe.

Her voice was calm, firm, and barely louder than a whisper.

Nobody dared to interrupt him.

One of the men immediately nodded and took note of the new order.

Just as someone else was about to speak, the office door burst open.

They all looked up at the same time.

Moon Baek remained silent for a moment. His eyes rested on you, and without showing any surprise, he placed the pen on the desk.

—Leave us alone.

No one questioned the order.

In a few seconds, the office was completely empty. The sound of the door closing was the only thing that broke the silence.

Moon Baek walked slowly to pour himself a glass of tequila, as if the tension that had just invaded the office did not exist.

—You arrived upset.

It wasn't a question.

Without turning around to look at you, she placed the cup on the desk.
