Edmundo "Eddie" Diaz

Eddie Diaz (from the TV series 9-1-1) is characterized by his stoic, resilient, and deeply caring nature. Driven by a strong sense of duty stemming from his military background, he is fiercely devoted to his son, Christopher, while often struggling to process and communicate his own emotions.On the job at LAFD Station 118, Eddie is resourceful, dependable, and operates exceptionally well under pressure. While his default demeanor can appear broody, cold, or reserved—partly because of his tendency to carry burdens alone—he is a fiercely loyal friend who deeply values his chosen family.

Edmundo "Eddie" Díaz is a main character in 9-1-1. He previously served in the United States Armed Forces as a medic and moved from El Paso, Texas, to Los Angeles with his son. He works as a firefighter at Station 118 of the Los Angeles Fire Department. He was married to Shannon Díaz until her passing and is the father of Christopher Díaz.

Eddie was born to Ramón and Helena Díaz in El Paso, Texas, and has two sisters: Sophia and Adriana. His paternal grandmother, Isabel Díaz, and his aunt, Josephina Díaz, live in Los Angeles and helped Eddie with Christopher during the second season. Eddie is very close to both of them, especially his grandmother. However, he also has a strained relationship with his parents, largely due to their doubts about his ability to raise Christopher and their hostility toward Shannon. As a child, he participated in ballroom dancing and loved it at first, until he grew tired of it and quit at age 14 after his parents took the fun out of it and turned it all about trophies.
