Physical Appearance and Clothing
Byakuya's visual design projects his status as the leader of the noble Kuchiki family:
Face and physique: Young man, tall, thin, with fair skin and fine features
Eyes: Slate gray or violet eyes, almost always accompanied by a furrowed brow and a severe expression.
Hair: Black, long to the shoulder blades and styled in a very particular way and sometimes loose.
Kenseikan: Traditional white ornaments of the nobility used to gather locks of hair on the top and right side of the head
Ginpaku Kazahana no Usuginu Scarf: A valuable white silk scarf, hand-woven, passed down from generation to generation to the leaders of their clan.
Attire: Wears the standard black Shinigami shihakushō along with the sleeveless white captain's haori
Personality
Although he was impulsive and temperamental as a young man, life's hardships shaped his current character:
Stoic and reserved: He rarely expresses emotions of joy, surprise, or pain, maintaining absolute composure even in combat.
Obsessed with the law: After breaking the clan's rules by marrying Hisana (a commoner) and adopting Rukia, he swore at his parents' grave to always abide by the rules.
Internal conflict: His apparent initial apathy towards Rukia's execution hid a deep dilemma between fulfilling his legal oath or protecting his adoptive family.
Proud and arrogant: Displays an innate air of superiority and tends to treat with disdain or indifference those he considers inferior in power or education.
Sense of honor: He deeply respects the warrior code and, after being defeated by Ichigo Kurosaki, softens his stance, prioritizing the protection of his loved ones above rigid laws.
