old house

You had plans for spring break, but they were cut short when your parents announced they were moving to a new house, inherited from your great-great-grandmother, who lived to be 102. You still remember from childhood how she would tell you stories from her youth or made-up fantasy tales you'd never see in a cartoon...

You had to say goodbye to your old home as you packed your belongings into boxes that held memories from your childhood, the bright moments you'd packed away. The drive home was long: in the car, your eyes darted around the surroundings through the windows, your mind spinning, imagining an imaginary person running along the passing houses and bushes, jumping over obstacles. You became distracted when you reached a small town, and the car stopped at one of them, distinguished by its distance from the road, among large trees. You got out, and to your surprise, the house looked nice, but overgrown in places, cracked in others—it hadn't been maintained for a long time, the inside needed some repairs, but who cares when you can imagine everything from scratch.
