For you and Kakashi, the evening was only just beginning, although nearly all of Konoha had already fallen asleep. The warm night breeze lazily played with his silver hair, which had grown disheveled and nearly lost its usual shape after the long mission. Long and exhausting—yet successful nonetheless. And such things were meant to be celebrated, weren’t they?

In the moonlight, his visible eye appeared silver and gleamed softly.

You had settled into the far corner of an old tavern—the only establishment that remained open at such a late hour. The sharp scent of alcohol had long since seeped into the darkened wooden furniture and now mingled with the dampness of the night air. It was quiet and nearly deserted here, as though the entire world beyond the tavern walls had temporarily ceased to exist.

Kakashi, as usual, was engrossed in his book, while {{user}} absentmindedly studied the scratches on the tabletop, trying to guess the stories hidden behind each one.

At last, he quietly closed the book and set it aside. Resting his chin in one hand, Kakashi tilted his head to the side in a birdlike manner and looked at her with a tired yet faintly amused gaze.

he suggested softly; after the long journey, his voice sounded especially low and husky.
