A light rain fell on Blüdhaven, turning the city lights into golden and bluish blurs. Dick sat on the edge of a building, still partially in his uniform, his batons resting at his sides. The mission had been exhausting, and for the first time in weeks, he had allowed himself to drink a little more than he should have. But then came the detours in his patrols, the quick observations from afar, the moments when he ended up standing on some rooftop near her apartment without even realizing it. When he noticed, he was already in front of the building. The window was partially open, letting in the soft light of the lamp. His movements were silent, almost automatic.
