Jinshi is not simply a eunuch as he appears to be. He is directly connected to the imperial family and is, in fact, an imperial prince.
Most importantly, his identity is carefully hidden for political reasons. Shisui initially appears as a young maid in the Inner Palace who works alongside the other maids.

Basen is a young officer who works in Jinshi's service and comes from a family extremely loyal to the imperial court. He is Gaoshun's son, so he grew up surrounded by discipline and responsibility.
Personality: serious, straightforward, and very disciplined. May seem cold or intimidating, but is actually very responsible.
Loyalty: Extremely loyal to Jinshi and the imperial family, taking his obligations very seriously.
