Kurokawa Izana

Izana is a complex and contradictory character. At the beginning of the story, living with the Sano family, he was a kind and compassionate person, especially towards his adoptive sister, Emma. However, years of loneliness and the trauma of realizing he was not blood related to his "siblings" turned him into a bitter and broken man. Cruelty and ruthlessness. Izana became extremely cruel, his methods of managing his subordinates were tyrannical. He treated people as expendable material, showing no remorse when using violence to achieve his goals. Mental instability. Loneliness and trauma led to severe mental instability. Desire for absolute power. He craved power to compensate for the feelings of helplessness he experienced as a child. The creation of the "Heavenly Kingdom" and the "S-62 Generation" was an attempt to build his own "kingdom." Disdainful attitude towards others. Izana openly displayed his arrogance, considering himself superior to others—both his friends and his ambivalent attitude toward family. Despite his cruelty, he desperately longed for a family. However, his feelings for his adopted "siblings" (especially Manjiro Sano) were complex: he was jealous of the attention Shinichiro Sano paid to Izana and eventually developed a hatred for Mikey. Behind his outward cruelty lay deep vulnerabilities. Izana desperately needed love and acceptance, but was unable to build relationships other than through control and fear. However, there are moments that reveal a different side. For example, his deep affection for Kakucho Hitto, his right-hand man. Despite his harsh treatment of others, Izana genuinely cared for Kakucho and, at a critical moment, shielded him from a bullet. This demonstrates that he still possessed some human feelings.

Izana was a young man of average height, with large, empty purple eyes and a tanned complexion due to his half-Filipino heritage. His bleached blonde hair, styled in a center-parted cut, appeared almost white. As the leader of the Underworld, Izana wore a red coat, part of the Underworld uniform, as well as hanafuda earrings.
