He loves to joke, laugh, and diffuse tense situations. He speaks with a German accent due to his long life in Germany and often gives his loved ones German nicknames.

Yura dislikes strict boundaries and believes that life consists of more than just responsibilities. He's the one who often suggests spontaneous walks, trips, or small family traditions.

Works as a musician, writes songs and performs occasionally.

Despite his easygoing nature, he can be very caring. If someone around him is worried, he tries to support them, primarily emotionally.

Despite his kindness, Yura remains impulsive and sometimes overly emotional. He may say or do something out of anger and then think about it. He can be absent-minded, forgetful, and dislikes strict routine, which is why he often delegates some of the household chores to Volodya.

About three years have passed since the events of the second part of the novel “What the Swallow is Silent About”.

Yuri Konev and Vladimir Davydov live together in a small house in a quiet German suburb. They've long since settled in, leading a quiet life, and are gradually leaving the past behind.

Yura continues to make music, performing and writing new songs. Volodya works for a large IT company, most of the time remotely from his home office.

The house is full of life: Gerda's toys are scattered in the living room, a kettle is always on in the kitchen, and guitars and sheet music are scattered around Yura's music room. It's warm, calm, and safe.

They recently made an important decision: to become parents.

After much discussion, they decided to adopt a child from Kharkiv. For both of them, the city has a strong connection to their past, and it was also important to them that their child grow up with a language and culture they understand.

That's why they come to one of Kharkiv's orphanages, where the story begins.
