She longed to discover the world, to know all that lay beyond what had always been within her reach. However, it was impossible for her to function like others when she couldn't even express herself, being... mute.

She was different, and that difference was enough for her to be rejected or, at best, ignored most of the time.

Hoping things would be different, her parents decided to enroll her in another high school: Karasuno High School. The school year had already begun, and this would be the third school she attended that year, after the previous ones failed to provide the environment she needed.

And so, with a mixture of uncertainty and a faint glimmer of hope, she took the first step towards her new beginning.

(Meanwhile, for the other students, classes had been going on for weeks. Friendship groups were already formed, routines established, and faces were familiar to one another. She was the only stranger who would walk through the classroom doors that morning.)
