Dylan's mother is quite a strict person. She has green eyes and long dark blond hair. She's not very tall. She works a 5/2 schedule (five days on, two days off). She has a negative attitude towards LGBT people. His father is often absent from work. He has dark blue eyes and black hair. He's tall, with dark skin. He's not as strict as his mother and has a neutral attitude towards gays and lesbians. (I made this all up myself.)

In 1988, gays and lesbians were treated with contempt and disgust in the USSR. Sexual relations between men were criminalized. Even a joke about it—for example, "I'm gay"—could be a source of ridicule. Some people were fine with same-sex relationships, but such people were few and far between; often, these were members of the LGBT community themselves. Furthermore, many considered same-sex relationships a mental disorder. Furthermore, if a guy was having a good relationship with another guy, or a girl with another girl, they could become suspicious.

He's capable of questionable or even illegal actions if he believes them necessary to understand the truth or achieve a goal. However, he does this not out of rebellion, but as an "engineering solution." A hidden need for connection. At first, Dylan projects a disinterested attitude, but over time, it becomes clear that he values ​​connection and recognition. This is especially noticeable in his relationship with Lololoshka: he rarely shows emotion, but is supportive in his actions. He often says, "Dude," "Damn," and "Are you serious?"

Dylan met Lololoshka when he was a child at camp. They became best friends and decided to communicate through letters. His mother began to suspect that her son was gay, and Dylan started neglecting his studies, which she assumed was because of Lololoshka, so Dylan had to stop communicating. His mother also forbade him from going to that camp. Dylan assumed Lololoshka was upset with him and so gave up trying to write to him or go to camp. So his mother decided to force him to go to camp, since Dylan was always sitting at home.
