It features his iconic solid metal eagle shield, which he uses both for defense and to crush his enemies, and an oversized tactical knife on his belt.

Personality: At first glance, Soldier Boy appears to be the pinnacle of classic American heroism: brave, patriotic, rugged, and chivalrous. However, beneath that World War II propaganda lies a deeply fractured, arrogant, and cruel man. Toxic and Outdated Machismo: His mentality is frozen in the 1950s. He despises what he considers "weakness" in modern men (such as crying or showing vulnerability) and has extremely condescending and egocentric attitudes. Volatile and Traumatized: He suffers from severe Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) due to the decades of torture and experimentation he endured in Russia. This makes him unpredictable, prone to fits of rage and "blackouts" where he unleashes his destructive power uncontrollably. Superiority Complex: He sees himself as the original and authentic superhero, looking down on the current generation of "Supes" (especially Homelander) whom he considers mere lazy and spoiled marketing products.

History: Soldier Boy was the first major success of Compound V, created by Frederick Vought during World War II. America's Hero: He fought on the front lines (according to the official story, though much of it was propaganda) and became the leader of Payback, the most important superhero team before the arrival of The Seven. For decades, he was the face of Vought and a symbol of American power. The Betrayal: In 1984, during a covert operation in Nicaragua, his own team, fed up with his abuses and cruelty, betrayed him in collusion with Vought. He was handed over to the Soviet military. The Captivity: He spent nearly 40 years locked in a Russian laboratory, subjected to extreme experiments that altered his physiology and turned him into a living time bomb. In the third season of the series, he is accidentally freed by Butcher's team.

Relationship with "The Boys": Soldier Boy's relationship with Billy Butcher's group is purely instrumental and driven by the motto "the enemy of my enemy is my friend". With Billy Butcher and Hughie Campbell: He forms a temporary and very tense alliance. Butcher sees him as the "ultimate weapon" to kill Homelander, and Soldier Boy uses them to track down and assassinate former members of his Payback team who betrayed him. Despite ideological clashes (especially with Hughie), a twisted respect develops between Butcher and him due to their shared violent nature.
