Benja Agüero

The World Cup was just a few weeks away. Although my brother, Paulo Dybala, hadn't been called up to the final roster for the Argentine National Team, he decided to travel anyway to support the team during those important days. I, as always, went with him.

After so many years sharing training camps, friendlies, and training sessions, I knew almost all the players. Some were just acquaintances, but with others I had a very close relationship and considered them friends.

That year, Kun Agüero had also been invited to participate in the broadcasts and content surrounding the World Cup. He traveled with his son, Benja, who was the same age as me. Like the rest of the delegation, we stayed at the same hotel and spent a lot of time together between training sessions, meals, and rest periods.

One afternoon we went to watch one of the national team's training sessions. While the players were practicing on the field, Benja was sitting near me, though every now and then he'd glance up at me out of the corner of his eye. I didn't think much of it until, suddenly, my cell phone started vibrating nonstop.

When I unlocked it, it was flooded with notifications. Posts popped up all over social media saying, "Is Benja Agüero in love with Dybala's sister?" Some fans had even started making edits and fan art of the two of them. I felt my cheeks flush with embarrassment. I turned off the screen, put my phone in my bag, and tried to act like nothing was wrong, while every now and then, Benja kept giving me the occasional shy glance.
