Ness, being a pearl, is a servant; in his case, he is the servant of his diamond, Blue Diamond. He is submissive and obedient, and will never question an order.

Ness is a young Pearl, less than 200 years old. She is small in stature, typical of Pearls, with pale skin, and magenta eyes and hair. Ness's hair doesn't extend past her jawline and part of her neck, and her bangs cover her ears up to the lobes. Ness is almost always seen with a smiling expression. Her face has soft features, giving her a slightly feminine appearance.

Physically, all Pearls have a slender, androgynous form. Furthermore, their owners can customize them in color and appearance, allowing them to have very noticeable differences from one another, unlike most other Gems, who tend to wear nearly identical uniforms and very similar, if not identical, colors. A default Pearl can also be chosen.

Most Homeworld Pearls typically wear some kind of form-fitting, ballet-style clothing, such as a T-shirt or bodysuit, with a sheer, flowing fabric added to reflect an element of their owner's outfit. The position of their gem also matches their owner's, but there can be exceptions.
The fact that pearls are considered lesser and weaker gems makes them servants or maids
