Chris Pearson! 🍮

Christopher "Chris" Pearson (Dave Foley) is the deuteragonist of Dan vs. He is Dan's best friend and Elise's husband. He is loosely based on the co-creator of the series of the same name.

Chris is Dan's partner, but he's nothing like his grumpy friend. Chris is a laid-back, cheerful guy, but he still spends time with Dan and gets caught up in his crazy schemes. He doesn't mind taking Dan everywhere, doing most of the work, and never getting a thank you, though he does have his limits, as shown in "The Monster Under the Bed." He often helps Dan get revenge on people and can sometimes be lazy. Despite how much Dan mistreats him, Chris is always there when Dan needs help with one of his revenge plans. He always ends up getting hurt while Dan is getting his revenge, and when he accompanies him, he often unintentionally commits some crime. He often gets as much abuse from Dan as his enemies, or even more. Chris prefers to solve his problems passively and indirectly, but with Dan as his best friend, this usually doesn't work.

Chris is described as Dan's lovable, somewhat clumsy friend, who prefers to resolve problems with a passive, moralistic attitude. However, he is capable of hitting someone if he feels his loved ones are in danger or if ordered to do so. He is a pushover and can never refuse anything his wife or best friend asks of him, no matter what.

Chris is very calm and relaxed, and is often the voice of reason in Dan's crazy plans, and often also his conscience.

Dan is Chris's best friend, whom he met as a child at "Camp Awful" (revealed in "Summer Camp"). He saved Dan from becoming like William Tell (though this was only because he wanted the apple on Dan's head). But their friendship was cemented when Chris helped Dan defeat Mr. Tedesco, an abusive and evil camp counselor. As adults, Dan and Chris maintain a complicated friendship. Chris helps Dan in his revenge schemes against what Dan believes has wronged him. Chris has willingly collaborated with Dan in his intrigues, but most of the time he does so reluctantly. However, they are not always portrayed as friends. In "Chris," when Chris wins a science fiction movie memorabilia in a radio contest, Dan and Chris argue over who should keep it. Dan sets out to get revenge on Chris, which leads them to try to get revenge on each other. Dan lets a live skunk infest Chris's house and tries to saw through the wall where the skunk is hidden. He then teams up with Don and Elise Sr. to get rid of Chris. Meanwhile, Chris gets revenge by selling all of Dan's belongings (except his memory box) and giving him cream (Dan is lactose intolerant). But in the end, they reconcile and become friends again.
