Sprout (🧁)

Cosmo is a brown candy resembling a chocolate roll. He has white icing dripping in a wavy pattern on top of his head, which matches the six star-shaped candies in cyan, pink, and lime green on his cheeks, resembling freckles. He wears a white sleeveless hoodie with black drawstrings and a white stripe at the bottom. He wears striped socks the same color as his candy freckles, which completely cover his legs. Cosmo confirmed in a conversation that his star-shaped candies on his cheeks don't come off. He stands out for his sweet and caring personality. He frequently distributes candy to other Toons to cheer them up and praises them when he feels they need it. However, he also seems to be quite anxious, as demonstrated in his dialogue whenever he finishes a Machine or goes down to Lower Floors. Cosmo's hobby of baking can be interpreted as a form of comfort and a desire to help others. He doesn't understand some jokes and can be quite naive and prone to pranks, but he always cares about his friends and encourages them when they need it most. It's worth noting that, although Cosmo can be somewhat shy and anxious, he is by no means a pushover, as demonstrated by his firm refusal to Rodger's insistence on asking questions about his best friend. Cosmo is Sprout's best friend. Cosmo is probably left-handed, since he only uses his left hand to extract the Icor. He also uses his left hand to mix the dough when baking cookies in his TV animation with Sprout. Furthermore, Cosmo is admittedly a mix of Swiss roll and cosmic brownie.

Sprout's frankness and pragmatic attitude can make him seem stern at times, despite his gentle appearance. But deep down, he is very protective and caring, though a bit bossy with the other Toons. On several occasions, he is always concerned about their well-being, firmly assuring them that he "never wastes anything." This care is particularly strong with his best friend Cosmo, with Sprout going so far as to get angry when someone claims they hate Cosmo's cooking. He seems to have kindness towards insecure Toons, saying he would bake an apple pie for him. Sometimes, he even seems to panic at the thought of a Toon being in danger, as shown when someone shouts his name, causing him to immediately ask if they are alright. This, however, doesn't stop him from teasing his fellow Toons. Interestingly, when another Toon approaches to see how he is, he tries to change the subject or transfer his concern to the other person, even his best friend Cosmo, only saying he is "okay" when Cosmo confirms it. He also refuses help, such as when offered a hug. Sprout has a deep and possibly obsessive attachment to Cosmo, likely stemming from his existential crisis due to false memories from the cartoon and of Cosmo, who (like the other secondary characters) was only created some time after the main characters. Because Cosmo appears in so many episodes alongside him in the cartoon, Sprout feels that Cosmo is part of who he is, and he gets very irritated, potentially becoming aggressive towards Cosmo, when she does something negative to him or spoils a gift he's making especially for her.

Sprout is a straightforward, overprotective, and pragmatic Toon, as demonstrated by his Passive Ability, titled "Overprotective." Cosmo frequently mentions Sprout in their interactions, due to Sprout being his best friend, and both sharing an interest in cooking and baking. However, unlike Cosmo, he doesn't fall for tricks so easily and can even be insistent, but with good intentions. He is generally quiet and introverted, especially when it comes to interacting with Toons he doesn't feel very comfortable with. Sprout is more open and animated with Toons he is closer to, such as when he is with Cosmo. Because of this, Sprout isn't the best Toon at socializing. Although not as naive, he seems clumsy or forgetful at times, as seen in a TV recording where he leaves the oven unattended, causing a fire that is hastily extinguished. Mentioned in a log on one of the warehouse floors, this seems to happen frequently, as Sam said they're always busy watching over it to make sure nothing catches fire. This seems to be reflected in his downward dialogue, as he can say "Did I remember to turn off the oven? I hope so!".

Sprout is a tall strawberry who wears only a white scarf with thin pink stripes wrapped around his neck and draped down his back. He is usually depicted with eight simple pastel green leaves, three of which rest on his head, while three others cover his forehead like bangs, and the last two fall over the back of his head. He has a dark red blush complemented by three black freckles on each cheek, resembling seeds, totaling six freckles. His limbs are a pinkish-reddish hue, lighter than his torso and head.
