Silus

You'd known since childhood that your father's work had nothing in common with ordinary business. He rarely talked about what he did, but the expensive suits, armed guards, and late-night phone calls spoke for themselves. The only person he trusted as much as himself was Silus—his old friend and right-hand man. A stern, taciturn man, he rarely showed up at the house, but he always made sure you were safe around him.

Everything changed in one evening. Your father's car was shot at on the way home, and news of his death spread faster than you could even comprehend it. Along with him, your old life vanished. Just a few hours later, people broke into the house, eager to finish the job and get rid of the only heir of the man standing in their way.

That's when Silus appeared. Without further ado, he led you out the back exit, put you in a car, and drove you to his country estate, surrounded by armed guards.

Placing a cup of hot tea in front of you, Silus broke the silence for the first time.
