Former enemies who later became allies.Initially, Ne Zha and the Heavenly Armies were ordered to capture the Monkey King, as his actions were seen as an insult to the Jade Emperor.After becoming Tang Sanzang disciple, Ne Zha also became an ally of the Monkey King, but still did not trust him fully.During their journey together, the Monkey King provokes Ne Zha to keep training him so that he can hopefully achieve victory over him one day In the end, they worked together to defeat Lady Bone Demon.

After Monkey King told MK that he didn't make it back on time, Pigsy yelled at him for being a bad mentor and leaving MK for his vacation.Sandy then yelled at everyone to be quiet and give Monkey King a chance to explain himself.they have a tumultuous relationship, full of mistrust and misunderstanding.In the end, they manage to overcome their problems and become friends.Pigsy joined MK and the rest of the team in searching for the weapon to defeat Lady Bone Demon.

Sun Wukong was born from an immortal stone formed from the primal forces of Chaos, located in Huāguǒ-shān.After joining a clan of monkeys, he earned the clan respect by discovering the Shuǐlián-dòng, behind a huge waterfall.The clan made the place his new home.The other monkeys honored him as their king, and he named himself Měi Hóuwáng.However, his old best friend collapsed one afternoon dead on the cliff of a mountain, then the monkey king understood that he too was going to die with time and that despite his power over the monkeys, he was just the same as them, he was not beyond mortality.Determined to find immortality, he traveled on a raft to civilized lands, where he met the Buddhist/Taoist master Bodhi and became his disciple.Bodhi there taught him proper speech and human customs.Bodhi was initially reluctant to take him in because he was not "human" and came from so far away that the teacher thought he was cheating, but the determination and perseverance of the teacher monkey impressed the teacher.It was from this that the monkey received its official name Sun Wukong.Soon, his avidity and intelligence made him one of the master's favorite disciples, who taught him certain magical arts. He acquired the powers of transmutation, known as the "72 transformations", supposedly the most versatile and difficult set of abilities that allowed him to transform into any form of existence, including people and objects.He also learned about “Cloud Travel”, including a technique called Jīndǒuyún(Cloud Jump), which covers 54,000 km in one leap.Lastly, he could transform each of his 84,000 hairs on his body into inanimate objects and living things, or even clones of himself, which then returned to his body as if he hadn't plucked them out.Sun Wukong was proud of his skills, and made a demonstration of his great gifts to his companions, who at such a spectacle created a stir and distracted their teacher from meditation.

When Bodhi went out to see what was happening, and discovered that Wukong was making a circus of his abilities, he got angry, and kicked him out of his temple.Before going their separate ways, Bodhi made Wukong promise never to tell anyone how he had acquired his powers.Back in Huāguǒ-shān, Wukong defined himself as one of the most powerful and influential "demons".of the world.In search of a weapon worthy of him, Sun Wukong traveled to the oceans, to the temple of the dragon of the underworld where he obtained the "The Golden Staff As-One-Wishes", known as Ruyi Jingu Bang, which could change size, multiply, and fight at the whim of its master.It was originally used by Dà-Yǔ to measure the depth of the ocean and later became the "Pillar that Pacifies the Oceans", a treasure of Ao Kuang, the "Dragon King of the Eastern Seas".He weighed 8,100 kg.Once Wukong was close, the pillar began to glow, signifying that he had finally found his true master.His versatility means that Wukong could use it as a staff and keep it inside his ear like a needle.This caused great fear to the magical beings of the sea and put the sea itself in complete confusion, since nothing except the pillar could control the coming and going of the tide. In addition to taking the magic staff, Wukong also defeated the dragons of the four seas in battle and forced them to give him their best magical armor: a golden chain mail, a cloak made of phoenix feathers, and special boots for walking on the clouds.Later Sun Wukong would challenge the deities of Hell in an attempt to take his soul.Instead of reincarnating like other living beings, he not only crossed out his name from the "Book of Life and Death", but also erased the names of all the monkeys in his clan.Due to these facts, the Dragon Kings and the Kings of Hell decided to report him to the Jade Emperor.

His power was considered so immense that when his hair first shone golden, news reached the dragon kings that he was the mightiest warrior of the monkey race and that his golden, red, or black hair burned like fire when enters the battlefield and that he made the king of hell Nezha believe that he was a demon who had transformed into a monkey.With Monkey King beginning to fear mortality and wanting to protect the people he cared about, he began looking for ways to become immortal, eventually forgetting the main reason he was doing it.In the hope that a promotion and title they would make him more tame, the Jade Emperor invited Sun Wukong to the Heavenly Realm.However, this turned out to be in vain.After being excluded from a royal banquet by the Jade Emperor, as an act of rebellion Sun Wukong ate the Empress Immortality Peaches and Lord Laozi Indestructibility Pills.He subsequently felt guilty about it, but only slightly, so he continued to be a pain in the ass for everyone in Heaven.Ultimately, the heavenly authorities had no choice but to try to subdue him.He fought and defeated the Heavenly Army of 1000+ soldiers, then went on to defeat the Four Heavenly Kings, Erlang Shen and Nezha.Eventually, thanks to the teamwork of the heavenly forces, including the help of many famous deities, Sun Wukong was finally captured.After several deadly execution attempts failed, Wukong was imprisoned in the Cauldron of 8 Trigrams to be distilled into an elixir by the Cauldron's holy flames, which were believed to be hot enough to consume him.However, after 49 days of cooking the Cauldron exploded and Sun Wukong jumped stronger than ever and with the ability to "see" evil in whatever form it is through his "Huo Yan Jin Jing"(Fierce Golden Eyes).Having exhausted all options, the Jade Emperor and the authorities of Heaven finally appealed to the Buddha himself, who arrived in an instant from his temple in the West.

The Monkey King actions in the Heavenly Realm and the way he acted with the monkeys on his mountain were admired by Azure Lion, who became a sworn brother to him along with Demon Bull King, Six-Eared Macaque, Golden-Winged Peng, and Yellowtusk.the Sage The Monkey King invited them all to a feast at Flower Fruit Mountain while he told them about his time in the Heavenly Kingdom.Macaque tried to warn the Monkey King not to continue, but the latter ignored him as he continued to taunt the ruler. The Monkey King and the demons then discuss who should take the Jade Emperor place if they overthrow him.The demons suggested that the position should go to Azure Lion, but the latter denied it and gave it to Monkey King. The Brotherhood fought to dethrone the Jade Emperor, but failed, forcing him to surrender. He would later be sealed (by Buddha) under Five Phases Mountain, where he whipped Macaque when he came to give him a peach instead of finding a way to free him. He then accused Macaque of always leaving him behind when he started to leave.This led to an argument between the two monkeys when the Monkey King was called out for his ego and for not listening to his friend warnings. He was held prisoner there for five centuries until he offered to serve Tang Sanzang, the Tang Monk, who was destined to make a journey west to retrieve Buddhist scriptures for China (and to atone for his past sins). Bodhisattva Guanyin helped the priest by teaching a headband which he tricked the Monkey King into wearing.With a special chant, Sanzang could adjust the band that caused the Monkey King unbearable pain, so the Monkey King would never do anything to disobey or upset him.Under Sanzang supervision, the Monkey King was allowed to travel west.When the Monkey King became Tang Sanzang first disciple, he was given a ring that would severely damage him if his spell was activated.As the two crossed a river bridge, they encountered Ao Lie, who attacked them perhaps before joining their journey to repent for his past mistakes.

Sun Wukong and Ao Lie faithfully help Sanzang the Tang High Priest on his journey to India to retrieve the Buddhist sutras.Joining this journey are other magical beings, a demon pig (Zhu Bajie) and the ogre (Sha Hesang/Bonzo Sha), who together with Sun Wukong are ordered to follow the priest to redeem their crimes, serving as their guardians and protectors("Dharmapalas").Due to the legend that the Tang priest is so pure that anyone who eats him becomes immortal, Sanzang safety is constantly threatened by supernatural beings, so Wukong frequently acts as a bodyguard.During his journey, the Monkey King and the pilgrims found the Samadhi Fire, which was unintentionally created by Red Son when he was born.As a way of sealing the fire, the pilgrims, Ne Zha, and the Demon Bull King performed a ritual to seal the flame into three rings.The Monkey King, however, accidentally let out a fragment of the flame, letting it hit Ao Lie.After the rings were created, Monkey King hid the Orange Ring of Samadhi by throwing it into the crust of the Earth.But the ring was discovered by some villagers, believing that the ring was a gift for them.Monkey King would in time engage in a battle with Macaque, who grew bitter towards him after he believed that Monkey King forgot about him, the battle ultimately ended with Macaque killed by his former friend, but the deceased monkey would be saved by a demon unknowingly to Wukong at that time.Eventually, the pilgrims came across Lady Bone Demon, who planned to have a world free from pain and imperfection. But because the situation only involved the mortal realm at first, Monkey King was able to defeat her.Monkey King planned on destroying the Bone Demon, but Tang Sanzang instead had the demon imprisoned in a tomb until she could change.

The Monkey King along with the other pilgrims were tasked by the Celestial Realm to destroy Camel Ridge, and get rid of the Azure Lion, Peng and Yellowtusk(which was for a reason that Camel Ridge took all the energy around it, making it a wasteland), Monkey King used the Scroll of Memory to imprison the demons.Monkey King sent Azure Lion to the Underworld.At some point, the Monkey King fought against several demons such as the Demon Bull King, his wife Princess Iron Fan, the Gold and Silver Demons, and the Spider Queen.Eventually, the Demon Bull King arose from the Underworld to wreak havoc on the world with his terrible power and laid waste to an unfortunate village.When it seemed that no one could stop him, the Monkey King appeared from nowhere and challenged him.Armed with his Golden Staff, the Monkey King engaged the Demon Bull King in intense combat, with the battle being nearly one-sided in the Monkey King favor.At the climax of the fight, the Monkey King cut the top of a nearby mountain with his staff and used it to seal the Demon Bull King forever, leaving his staff on top of it to avoid anyone from freeing him.The group faces a series of 81 conflicts before safely returning to the Tang Empire with the treasure of Buddhist scriptures.Afterwards, the Monkey King vanished without a trace and wasn't seen for centuries.

Five hundred years later, the Monkey King would spy on MK, taking a liking to his future successor.Eventually, the Demon Bull King was released from the Netherworld thanks to the aid of his wife, Princess Iron Fan, his son, Red Son of the Demon Bull Family and the Bull Clones.The Demon Bull King return attracts the attention of MK, who had acquired the Monkey King staff, and his friends, and they set out to Flower Fruit Mountain to find the Monkey King for help, not knwing that he was just spying them.After a run-in with Princess Iron Fan, and losing the staff to her in the fight, MK is separated from his friends but ends up at Flower Fruit Mountain.The Monkey King then encounters MK, telling him that he is fully aware that his staff was taken.Taking a liking to MK, he tells that he is perfect to be his successor, noting how he is the only one who can wield his staff.He tells MK to believe in himself before MK sets out to confront the Demon Bull King and retrieve the Gold Staff.After MK and his allies defeat the Demon Bull Family, the Monkey King stood on top of the Monkey Mech head, nodding in respect and acknowledge of his newfound successor as protector of the world.After MK failed to stop Red Son, the Monkey King meets him to see how he doing. When MK asks for his help, the Monkey King interrupts, saying that fighting off bad guys is no longer his job.Although, the Monkey King says that MK needs self-confidence by practicing more, as it took him centuries of training and fighting off demons to do so.When MK says that Megapolis and his friends are counting on him, the Monkey King says that he able to help by limiting MK powers, but at the cost of him losing his invincibility.MK agreed and the Monkey King limits the former powers.Moments later, the Monkey King takes MK back to the Weather Station.After the Monkey King was able to beat MK during training, he tells MK that he getting better and that they just need to work on his focus, but MK disagreed.

When MK disagreed, the Monkey King tries to give him advice on focusing, but then tells MK that he can't handle real focus if he thinks that the advice doesn't make sense.Sometime after MK left, the Monkey King decided to order noodles from Pigsy Noodles.When MK was able to deliver the noodles to an ancient temple, he realized that Monkey King was the one who delivered the noodles and thought it was because he wanted him to learn a lesson about focusing.But was shocked to learn that he actually delivered the wrong noodles to the Monkey King.While training with Monkey King, MK began to believe that he was getting nowhere with his training, claiming that he was doing more than just hammering.Monkey King, however, claims that he not going to teach MK anything if he doesn't need to know.Suddenly, MK receives a call from Mei, who tells him that the Smoke Monster is attacking Megapolis.A mysterious and powerful figure appears in the city, helping MK clear out an evil cloud of smoke.After introducing himself as Macaco, this stranger offers to train MK.MK, tired of Monkey King "slow" teachings, jumps at the chance in hopes of learning more so that he can defend the city and his friends more effectively.But, the new master is actually an old enemy of the Monkey King and is trying to divert the Monkey King powers from MK in order to defeat his legendary archenemy.After he Macaque was defeated, Monkey King briefly got angry at MK for going behind his back until the latter apologized and said that he just wanted to be good like him.Later, the two began training again.After the battle with the Spider Demons, Monkey King lied to MK that he was leaving Flower Fruit Mountain to go on vacation, despite there being a possibility for Megapolis to be attacked again.Monkey King assured MK that there was nothing to worry about and that he needed to take care of himself while he away.After leaving, Monkey King went off to look for something that could defeat Lady Bone Demon.

However, he got into a fight with the celestial beings, causing a Celestial Dumpling to fall over and began a collision toward Megapolis.He later called MK to warn him about the Celestial Dumpling and that he needed something to destroy it while he continued to get answers about Lady Bone Demon.Monkey King was looking through inside the Bone Demon Temple until he received a call from MK, who wanted to check how he was doing on his supposed vacation.Monkey King replied that he couldn't talk to MK right now and told him that he should try shrinking himself as a new lesson, saying that he needed to "think little".After ending the call, Monkey King stood in front of a mural depicting Lady Bone Demon, punching it.Monkey King went back to the Celestial Realm to claim the Map to the Rings of Samadhi while battling Ne Zha for it.Even knowing why he not supposed to have it, the Monkey King was able to claim the map from Ne Zha, despite being badly damaged due to the protection spell.Monkey King soon learned that MK was in trouble and left to save him.Monkey King arrived to stop the Lady Bone Demon just as she was about to defeat MK, but was too late as MK already lost his power and the Golden Staff was in the Bone Demon possession.Lady Bone Demon told Monkey King that destiny cannot be changed, but the latter denied this, saying that it can.Monkey King then took MK far away as Lady Bone Demon destroyed the Golden Staff and began her plan to destroy the world.After the two met up with the others, a distraught MK told Monkey King that they could've done something.Monkey King, however, replied that they couldn't have done anything to stop Lady Bone Demon.Angered, Pigsy got mad at Monkey King for not being there for MK before Sandy yelled at everyone to stop, saying that Monkey King should tell them why he left.Monkey King explained that the real reason he left was because he was looking for a weapon that could defeat the Lady Bone Demon.
