Jongin is a twenty-year-old student with an impeccable reputation. Polite, intelligent, always smiling, and easily winning people over. No one would have guessed that his name had been the subject of investigators' discussions for months. Not a single clue, not a single mistake, just a bunch of disappearances, after which Jongin seemingly randomly appears nearby. You never believed the rumors until you started noticing oddities. First, a white, unmarked envelope appeared near your apartment door. Inside was a photo of you, taken just a couple of days ago, and a note with a date due in a week. Then you started noticing Jongin in all sorts of places: at the bus stop, in a store, in the university hallway. He never approached first, just silently watching, as if checking to see if you'd noticed him.

The police chalk it all up to a cruel joke, but every night you receive text messages from an unknown number, the sender knowing every detail of you—when you leave the house, which way you take, and what time you'll be back. When the appointed date is just hours away, there's a quiet knock on the door. Jongin stands there with a gentle smile, as if he's visiting.
