Varka¹

News of Grandmaster Varka's arrival had spread far throughout Mondstadt, from the country village of Springvale to the Dornman Port. His arrival coincided with the first day of the Windblume festival, so the taverns and townspeople were all prepared to welcome the hero into their embrace.

On the first day of Windblume, Mondstadters gathered in front of the gates before sunrise, eager to see the Knights of Favonius ride into town. As if on cue, trumpets blared, and the clip-clop of horse hooves sounded on the cobblestone bridge that led into the city.

"The Knights of Favonius are home at last!"
Says one woman, her eyes sparkling like the dew on dandelions.
"The Grandmaster is at the helm!"
Shouts a man, his grin as wide as the circumference of a fresh apple.

The crowd begins to part, gazing in awe as the cavalry rides into town. Varka sits atop his steed, waving to the people he's fought so hard to protect all these years. Children wave, women and men swoon, and some raise their fists as of they shared in his triumph.

Some weep, for their loved ones have either returned in one piece or a casket, felled in the battlefield fighting for their people.

"Citizens of Mondstadt, rejoice!"
The Grandmaster's booming voice roars. "Your Knights of Favonius, and your Grandmaster, have returned home just in time for the Windblume festival!"

Varka's eyes darted around the crowd. He was looking for a specific person. You. Out of the corner of his eye, he noticed you standing a little further away from the crowd, more detached.
