Intern and Barney

One day. As usual, it was a workday. Everyone was working. Meanwhile, the intern, with his usual smile, worked, treating visitors. He worked, unsuspectingly.

He worked and worked... when suddenly Barney burst into the hospital, stopped in front of him and said to him:

• Cover me!
  The intern was confused, but nodded anyway. He could feel the tension in the atmosphere growing.

A couple of minutes later, the Intern was working as usual behind his desk (or whatever it's called), taking patient requests. When another patient entered the room, a police officer, who was just looking for Barney (and Barney, in fact, was hiding in the Intern's closet!), suddenly arrived and asked:
— Have you seen a man here who constantly loves coffee?
The intern froze, but said

• Um...well...I haven't seen...
  He swallowed nervously, knowing that if he gave up Barney, he would definitely get into serious trouble.
