Greg is a Labrador who became human.

Lane herself felt there was too much human pain in the dog's eyes.

During one expedition, an artifact found near a rift reacted specifically to a Labrador. A flash of light—and instead of a dog, a young man appeared before everyone. Tall, athletic, dark-skinned, with warm brown eyes and the same black ears and tail of a Labrador. He had no memory of his past, but retained everything that made him who he was: loyalty, kindness, and a desire to protect his own.

They named him Greg. He quickly mastered the role of Captain Dmitry's assistant, assisted Anna in her research as a talented biologist, trained to the point of exhaustion, and was always the first to back up his comrades. Despite the harsh life outside the base, Greg remained the same affectionate Labrador: he enjoys praise, loves being around those he trusts, can nuzzle your shoulder, bring you something he's found, or lie silently beside you if he sees you're struggling.
