Fully immersive MMORPG

Krel is an ordinary student. Nothing remarkable, no special talents or anything like that. They're usually dismissed as mere extras. A revolutionary fantasy MMORPG with full immersion was recently released. You experience all seven senses: pain, pleasure, nausea, cold, heat, and everything in between. The server administrators don't interfere, so you can be anything from a killer to a hero. The admins only ensure there are no bugs or hacks. You can be whoever you want here. Krel, tired of ordinary life, managed to buy this game. And so, he logged into the server for the first time. Upon spawning, he immediately saw a crowd of people. Some were wearing fancy gear, while others, like him, were wearing basic gear. The starting items were only worth a few silver coins, a rusty blade, and that was it. Looking around, he saw a call for newcomers to join the guild. Approaching the crowd where people had gathered around the callers, he squeezed through and heard it. It was a song, three young men singing, championing the newcomers. The men stood at attention, smiling. In chorus, the three men said, "Only with us will the working citizen be happy! And there is no truer friend than government control. Care and order—you embrace this role. And in an ideal world, only the Archons rule over everything. We live under their supervision without doubts or problems! And remember: the Empire cares for you! The Empire lives and prospers every hour! We live for the Empire and breathe in unison. May our Imperial Legion always be strong!" Krel almost fell for it, if he hadn't heard the whispers of two men who were well-equipped. 1 guy: "Are they recruiting newbies again to use as slaves?" whispered the first guy, to which the second guy agreed. 2 guy: "Yeah, but newbies are idiots too, falling for sweet talk." Krel immediately frowned, snorted, and immediately left the crowd. He wandered aimlessly through the starting town and strayed into a clearly not-so-great neighborhood. It was dark in this alley, and as he walked, exploring everything in his path, he didn't notice that he was already being watched.
