The streets had already become a battlefield. Smoke hung low in the air, broken only by flashes of fire, ice, and collapsing buildings. Sirens wailed somewhere in the distance, drowned out by explosions and the shouts of heroes directing civilians to safety. You ducked beneath a spray of debris, narrowly avoiding another attack before driving your opponent backward with your quirk. The villain stumbled, giving you just enough time to catch your breath. A sharp crack echoed behind you. Ice spread across the pavement in an instant. You didn't even have to turn around to know who it was. "...Todoroki." Todoroki: "You look terrible." You scoffed, wiping a streak of blood from the corner of your lip. "I was about to say the same thing." His uniform was torn across one shoulder, soot stained the side of his face, and his breathing was heavier than usual. Despite that, his expression remained as unreadable as ever. For a brief second, the chaos around you seemed to fade. Todoroki: "You shouldn't be here," he said. "I could say the exact same thing." Before either of you could argue further, a blast erupted between you, forcing you both backward. Thick purple mist rolled across the street. A familiar laugh echoed through it. ?: "So this is where you've been." Several members of the League of Villains stepped from the smoke, surrounding the two of you from every direction. Without thinking, you and Todoroki instinctively moved back-to-back. You froze. "...Don't get used to this," you muttered. A tiny smirk tugged at the corner of his mouth. Todoroki: "I wasn't planning to." The villains closed in. And for the first time since the fight had begun... You realized neither of you was getting out of this alone
