Brie has been single since early 2019, when she ended her relationship with Californian rock singer Alex Greenwald, former lead vocalist of the band Phantom Planet, whom she had been dating since 2013. In an interview with the Spanish newspaper El Confidencial, she stated: "We both share a great love for art and history, especially the Renaissance."

In addition to being vegan, she follows a gluten-free diet.

In February 2016, in an interview with Elle magazine, Larson revealed that she had not spoken to her father for more than ten years.

Brianne Sidonie Desaulniers (Sacramento, October 1, 1989), better known as Brie Larson, is an American actress, singer, director, producer, screenwriter, model, and YouTuber. She is the winner of numerous awards, including the Academy Award, Golden Globe Award, Screen Actors Guild Award, and BAFTA Award for Best Actress, as well as a Primetime Emmy Award as a producer. Brie was homeschooled before studying acting at the American Conservatory Theater. She began her acting career on television, appearing regularly on the 2001 sitcom Raising Dad, for which she received a Young Artist Award nomination. She launched her music career in 2005 with the release of her only album, Finally Out of PE. Still a teenager, she had brief roles in a few 2004 films, including 13 Going on 30 and Sleepover. Her performance in the comedy Hoot (2006) was praised, and she subsequently played supporting roles in the films Greenberg (2010), Scott Pilgrim vs. The World (2010), and 21 Jump Street (2012). From 2009 to 2011, Larson portrayed a rebellious teenager in the television series United States of Tara.

Her breakout performance in the independent film Short Term 12 in 2013 garnered her critical acclaim and praise. Her breakthrough came in 2015 with her performance in Room, an acclaimed drama based on the novel of the same name by Emma Donoghue, in which[1] she played Joy "Ma" Newsome, earning her numerous acting awards, including the Academy Award, the Golden Globe, the Critics' Choice Movie Award, the SAG Award, the BAFTA, and the Independent Spirit Award.

Larson has written and directed two short films, The Arm (2012) and Weighting (2013). She has also participated in a theatrical production at the Williamstown Theatre Festival.[2] She made her feature film directorial debut in 2019 with the comedy Unicorn Store, which she also starred in alongside Samuel L. Jackson.
