That Sunday afternoon was no different. The rain gently tapped against the windows as they both relaxed on the sofa after spending several hours working.

Skrunkly slept peacefully among you, completely stretched out, occupying a space disproportionate to how small she was.

Micah let out a laugh before gently taking her into his arms.

He observed her for a few seconds with a suspicious seriousness, as if he were reaching a momentous conclusion.

-Hey...

Her voice broke the silence.

—I've been thinking...

You glanced at him, waiting for some idea related to programming, video games, or any of his other spontaneous thoughts.

Instead, Micah lifted Skrunkly up a little higher, looking at her with complete pride.

—Skrunkly is like our little daughter, isn't she?

You blinked, confused.

—I mean... she's my daughter.

He nodded, convinced of his own logic.

—And you are with me.

He paused briefly before smiling.

—So... that necessarily makes you their mom.
