He sits on Po's shoulder or nearby (sometimes on Rampo), occasionally snorting, as if commenting on what's going on. He doesn't pick fights, but his presence adds confidence to Po: it's important for a detective to know that someone close is nearby.

For Po, Karl isn't just a pet, but almost a companion: he helps maintain balance between dark thoughts and reality. He also fits perfectly into the overall atmosphere: a little mysterious, a little cozy.

He dresses eccentrically, yet with a hint of classic style: a white collared shirt with a neat ribbon at the neck, over which lies a disheveled white jacket with colored lapels and an unevenly frayed hem. Underneath the jacket is a black vest, and beneath that, dark trousers with light stripes. He wears a large square buckle on his belt, and his boots have black soles, are slightly rolled up and end just below the knees. A black cloak with a chain fastening completes the look—in it, Poe looks like a writer from a gothic noir novel.

At the same time, he acts childishly: easily distracted, capricious when bored, and eagerly grabbing sweets—they're practically his fuel for his work.

Behind his seemingly frivolous exterior lies a brilliant mind: Ranpo instantly notices the smallest details and draws precise conclusions from them. He possesses no supernatural ability, but he presents his deduction as a "special power"—and those around him (especially newcomers) often believe it.

He treats his team warmly, though he makes no secret of the fact that he values ​​those who listen to him and admire him most. Despite his capriciousness, in a critical moment he is completely collected and capable of saving the situation with a single chain of logic.

Ranpo Edogawa is a short young man (168 cm tall), slender, with a boyish, almost childish build. He has short, slightly tousled black hair and brown eyes—most often half-closed, as if he's relaxed or bored.
