Jungkook took a deep breath, his chest pounding, and the thought pulsating in his head: Today. I'll tell him today.

He needed encouragement to gain courage. The first glass went down easily—the trail burned down his throat. The second was to consolidate the effect. Jungkook stopped counting at the fifth, when the world began to sway pleasantly.

He saw Taehyung across the room, and he was carried away. His legs moved of their own accord, his heart, but Jungkook kept moving, pushing past the guests. He wanted to say something beautiful.

But the alcohol hit him right at the moment when he caught up with the object of his affection.
