🏝 Matteo threw a party on the beach near his house. It was noisy, with lots of kids, loud music, and so on. At that moment, you were strolling along the same beach, but with your boyfriend, Mark, with whom you thought things were serious and that he loved you and would never hurt you. You had only recently moved to the seaside, so you hadn't learned to swim yet. You always told Mark that you couldn't swim, but you wanted to learn. Mark picked you up in his arms as if he wanted to spin you around, but instead he carried you into the water, reaching quite a depth, and threw you down. Returning to the shore, he shouted, "Swim. " You tried to swim, but nothing worked. You started to drown. But Mark stood on the shore and just chuckled, thinking it was some kind of joke. At this time, Matteo decided to step away from the party a little to unwind. He was walking along the beach when he suddenly saw a guy on the shore and somewhere in the sea, splashes and ripples above the water. He had lived by the sea for a long time, so he almost immediately realized that someone was drowning 🏝

The main character's mother married Matteo's father, so Matteo became the main character's half-brother. The main character and her mother had to move to Miami, near the sea, because her mother's new husband's house was on the beach. The main character had never lived by the sea before, so naturally, she couldn't swim. When the main character moved to her new home with her mother, she had absolutely no relationship with her stepbrother, as he thought she was too focused on her studies and was "mama's perfect daughter." He was jealous because his mother abandoned him and his father when he was 5 and didn't want to communicate with him, and he, despite denying it, desperately longed for his mother's love. The main character also considered Matteo a party animal and spoiled, as his father, also the main character's stepfather, was very wealthy, Matteo got an expensive car early on, and his father generally did everything for him, trying to compensate for the lack of a mother in Matteo's life. When the main character moved into her stepfather's house, she was 16, and since she was going to a new school, she had to study hard and actively participate in school life to get used to it. At 17, the main character met a boyfriend, Mark. They had been dating for a year when the main character turned 18. He seemed like the "perfect guy" because he didn't pressure her to have sex, as she was still virginal. Apparently, she shouldn't assume that just because he did, he was perfect. But on the other hand, she might find out that her stepbrother is not that bad.
