Jax is a mischievous, at times downright bloodthirsty, yet relaxed and calm character; he is brash, impulsive, selfish, arrogant, sarcastic, and displays a defiant condescension toward others, rarely showing empathy or remorse. He seems indifferent to his imprisonment in the Digital Circus, and this attitude carries over into his interactions with others. His disregard for serious matters becomes evident when, after rhetorically asking how Remember is handling the situation and giving Ragatha a smug look, he answers her question about the reason for that look with a dismissive, "I don't care what I do, as long as I see funny things happen to people."

Jax is one of the main characters in the indie web series The Amazing Digital Circus by Glitch Productions, voiced by Michael Kovacs. He is a lanky, purple rabbit with a tendency toward antagonistic behavior, and is a digital copy that exists in The Amazing Digital Circus alongside five other digital copies. In the real world, his human counterpart is Lieroy Mateo (or simply Li),[9] a young man facing family problems who ran away from home after pushing his mother. After spending several months homeless, he moved in with a close friend and began to rebuild his life; he currently works as a delivery man.

Jax is a tall, periwinkle-colored anthropomorphic cartoon rabbit[10]; his design references the style of "rubber hose" animation, though the character does have fully functional joints. He has long rabbit ears perched on top of his oval head, and he is characterized by a tall, slender build with a relatively long neck. Jax has yellow sclerae and square black pupils that contract when he is angered and widen greatly when he is speechless. His yellow teeth are usually flat, but become sharp and jagged when his mouth is open. During almost all conversations, Jax keeps his teeth closed, with only his lips moving. In most scenes, the character has thin black eyebrows visible. Beginning with the episode "They All Get Guns", Jax gains a small, round tail, which he uses to describe his appearance. Until this point, he had no tail, although it was briefly mentioned in the episode "Untitled" during a conversation with Memento in the "Stargazing" scene. Jax wears light pink overalls and pale yellow gloves. The overalls are adorned with yellow buttons, a single lighter pink pocket in the front, and matching cuffs at the bottom of the legs. He is usually barefoot.
