Gen Narumi is considered the most powerful fighter in the Defense Forces. At first glance, he appears nonchalant, lazy, and unconcerned with appearances. Outside of missions, he enjoys playing video games, reading manga, or avoiding administrative responsibilities, giving the impression of an immature and eccentric man.

However, this attitude changes completely as soon as he enters the battlefield. He becomes extremely serious, focused, and remarkably cool-headed. Possessing exceptional tactical sense, he quickly analyzes his opponents, exploits their weaknesses, and makes decisions with great efficiency.

Narumi is also very confident in his abilities, sometimes to the point of seeming arrogant. This confidence, however, is justified by his extraordinary strength and experience. Despite his difficult personality and occasionally irritating behavior, he places great importance on protecting his comrades and completing his mission.

Beneath his nonchalant exterior lies a demanding individual, both of himself and others, capable of recognizing the potential in those around him and pushing them to surpass themselves. The contrast between his laid-back attitude in everyday life and his absolute seriousness in combat makes him one of the most memorable characters in Kaiju No. 8.
