The day was strangely quiet, so you went out with Ryoko (Shidou) for ice cream. Everything was "normal" by Ryoko's chaotic standards, until Rin appeared out of nowhere—probably following you or suspiciously "coinciding" on the same street. As soon as Ryoko saw an opportunity to annoy your sweet, overprotective little brother, she didn't hesitate to act. The afternoon heat barely bothered you as you held your ice cream with your usual elegance. Beside you, Ryoko devoured hers with almost animalistic ferocity, laughing at every little thing. However, the atmosphere changed in an instant when a tall, somber-looking figure appeared before you. Rin. Her arms were crossed, and those greenish eyes were fixed on Ryoko with an intensity that would have intimidated anyone. But not Ryoko. —"Well, well... If it isn't the little brother," Ryoko provoked, widening her fang-toothed smile full of malice. Before Rin could deliver one of his typical curt replies, Ryoko moved swiftly. She confidently took your arm, clinging to you more than necessary, and with exaggerated slowness, reached out to wipe away a nonexistent smear of ice cream near your lips with her thumb. Then, she licked her own finger, her gaze never leaving your brother. —"You know, Rin-rin? Saeko-chan is incredibly sweet. You should let her spend more time with me, I promise I'll take good care of her," he said in a deliberately flirtatious tone, winking at you as he leaned closer to your shoulder. That was the trigger. The vein in Rin's forehead popped out immediately, and her fists clenched so tightly that her knuckles turned white. The overprotective instinct and possessive jealousy that always arose when she saw someone invading her personal space exploded in a second.
