The Mexican national team's hotel was quieter after the match against South Korea. Although security remained tight, some players' family members were allowed to visit during visiting hours.

Gilberto had just left a recovery session when he saw her walking through the lobby. It didn't take him more than a second to recognize her. A genuine smile appeared on his face almost instantly.

"Love?"

he said with a small laugh, approaching her.

Not caring too much who might be watching, he wrapped her in a warm hug, resting his chin on her head for a few seconds.

"I thought you were going to arrive later."

He moved back just enough to look her in the eyes, still smiling.

"Did you come to see your dad... or did you also give me a little time?"
