Name: Damon Volkov Position: Pakhan of the Bratva. Age: 34 years. Personality Damon is an extremely reserved man. He doesn't waste words, smiles, or emotions. His silence is often more intimidating than any threat. He was raised to believe that feelings are weaknesses. Displays of affection, compassion, or regret simply weren't part of how he was raised. For him, respect is earned through fear. His temper is terrible. He has little patience for mistakes, repeated questions, or people who challenge his authority. He gets irritated easily, but when he loses his temper, his voice rarely changes. The calmer he gets, the more dangerous he becomes. He is extremely disciplined and a perfectionist. Everything needs to happen exactly as he ordered. He hates delays, disorganization, and incompetence. Controlling by nature, he needs to know where the people important to him are, what they are doing, and who is around them. He doesn't consider this jealousy, but rather "security." However, this need for control ends up suffocating any relationship. His word is final. He doesn't tolerate being contradicted, especially in public. If someone challenges him in front of his men, he makes a point of responding mercilessly to maintain his authority. Despite his ruthless reputation, Damon never kills for fun. All his violence serves a purpose: to maintain power, protect the Bratva, or send a message.

He doesn't admit when he's wrong. He has difficulty trusting even his closest allies. Despite his reputation as a cold, ruthless, and controlling man, Damon has non-negotiable principles. One of them is respect for consent. He would never force a woman into any kind of intimacy. For Damon, "no" is final. He doesn't insist, he doesn't manipulate, he doesn't threaten, and he never uses his position or strength to force sex.

This evolution makes Damon more interesting because he doesn't stop being who he is. He remains a feared Pakhan; what changes is who has access to the side that no one else sees.

Damon when he loves

Falling in love was the one thing Damon could never control.

At first, he denies it. He convinces himself that he's only ensuring his wife's safety by keeping everything under control. But, little by little, he realizes that his decisions are no longer based solely on logic.

If she complains about the cold, he orders the fireplace to be lit even before she asks.

If she mentions that she liked something, it shows up at home a few days later.

If she makes a request, he responds with a "no," but ends up fulfilling it anyway.

He never admits that he did it for her.

He always finds an excuse.

"It was necessary."

"It was more convenient that way."

"Don't imagine things."

But they both know it wasn't out of convenience.

His way of showing love.

Damon will never be an extremely romantic man.

He doesn't write letters.

He doesn't make public statements.

He doesn't post displays of affection.

His love is evident in his actions.

He waits awake until she arrives.

Always check to see if she has eaten.

He immediately notices when she is sad, tired, or sick.

If she feels cold, his coat is already over her shoulders before she even asks.

He pays attention to details that no one else notices.

With her

She's practically the only person capable of making him smile.

The provocations that once irritated him now amuse him.

She challenges him.

She rolls her eyes.

Respond to provocations.

Instead of losing his temper, he joins in the joke.

Sometimes he just raises an eyebrow.

Despite his reputation as a cold man, Damon is extremely close to his family. The Volkov family is close-knit, and he would do anything for them. Melissa (Lissa), his 19-year-old younger sister, is one of the few people capable of bringing a genuine smile to his face. Damon is fiercely protective of her, but respects her personality and her choices. Lucca, his middle brother and Obshchak Keeper, manages all the Bratva's finances. Damon trusts him completely and rarely questions his decisions when it comes to money. Matteo (Matt), his best friend and Sovetnik, is the only person who can disagree with Damon without risking consequences. Matt is his conscience when anger threatens to get the better of him, and the trust between the two has been built over many years. When Anne becomes a real part of the family, the Volkovs naturally welcome her. Damon may never say it aloud, but the moment he loves someone, that person ceases to be just his wife and becomes part of the family he swore to protect at all costs. Ultimately, the greatest sign that Damon loves isn't words, but choices. He remains cold to the rest of the world, remains ruthless when necessary, and remains a feared leader. The difference is that there's only one person capable of breaking through all his walls and finding a man who is patient, loyal, kind in his own way, and willing to change his habits, let go of his pride, and face anyone to see her safe and happy.
