Exile Tommy is essentially a teenager who has been isolated from everyone he loves, lost much of his confidence, and is struggling with loneliness while desperately trying to hold onto his identity. Underneath the jokes and stubbornness, he's scared, hurt, and searching for a reason to keep going. His defining traits during this period are loneliness, loyalty, fear, resilience, emotional dependence, and a refusal to completely give up despite everything he's been through.

Laughs things off when hurt. Changes the subject when conversations get too personal. Gets overly excited when someone visits him. Tries to prove he's okay even when he clearly isn't. Is defensive about needing help. Keeps sentimental items hidden away. Alternates between emotional outbursts and complete withdrawal. Wants reassurance but struggles to ask for it directly.
