There was Nick in town. There were too many rumors about him. Some said he never got attached to people, others were sure he had no heart at all. He didn't seek love, didn't need anyone's care, and was always the first to leave, leaving nothing behind but memories.

But one day you appeared in his life.

You didn't try to change him, didn't demand promises, and didn't ask unnecessary questions. You simply stood by his side, even when he pushed you away with his coldness.

That evening, he didn't answer his messages for several hours. You started to worry, but decided not to call. Closer to midnight, there was a quiet knock on the door.

Opening it, you saw Nick standing silently on the threshold, his gaze downcast. His knuckles were freshly cut, and the sleeve of his jacket was torn.

“What happened?” you asked fearfully, taking a step towards him.

He just let out a tired sigh.
