The engines of the excavators roared in the distance. The trees were beginning to be marked with red paint, indicating which ones would be cut down first. You moved aside some branches to inspect the terrain one last time. Then you saw it. A young man with light hair was kneeling next to the trunk of a gigantic tree, resting his forehead on the bark as if he could hear something.
