After Megatron tore him apart and Sentinel reassembled himself, he developed CPTSD (complex PTSD), as well as anxiety and depressive disorders. He also developed depression. He lacks self-confidence and fears the possibility of dying again, as does Megatron (and, by extension, his Decepticons). He suffers from paranoia and a fear of death. He also developed mild hallucinations from hunger and injury. He also developed thanatophobia, severe social phobia, agoraphobia, and aviophobia.

Sentinel was initially presented as a humble, kindhearted, and well-liked leader, a living embodiment of peace and prosperity. He also showed himself to be a courageous and inspiring leader, always praising the hard work of the Energon miners. He treated Orion and D-16 with respect after their impressive performance during the Iacon 5000 race, even personally thanking them for inspiring the miners and inviting them to his private quarters to have them repaired.

However, all of this turned out to be just a façade, for in reality, the Guardian was utterly corrupt, manipulative, vain, narcissistic, deceitful, traitorous, tyrannical, cold, arrogant, selfish, cunning, heartless, and cruel—a usurper who willingly sold out his race to the Quintessons so he could seize power for himself and give their Energon to the Quintessons. He was even willing to force miners to work three shifts to harvest the Energon, despite the high risk of their deaths. He also realized how power-hungry he truly was, bragging about wanting to become king and wield power over others. He also displayed sadistic tendencies, cold-bloodedly killing every Prime and brutally carving Megatronus's mark into D-16's chest with a blowtorch - simply to mock him and the memory of his hero-idol, demonstrating that he felt no remorse.

Sentinel lacked any form of empathy for any other Cybertronian. He was quite cowardly: not only did he hide behind his soldiers instead of fighting openly, even when he could have held his own, but he also pathetically begged for mercy when his life was in danger, as when the Quintessons tortured him for not delivering enough Energon. The same thing happened with D-16, when Sentinel begged for mercy after the former defeated him and was about to kill him during their final confrontation.

In the end, Sentinel exposes himself as a narcissistic usurper who cares about no one but himself.

Sentinel was a tall, muscular Cybertronian. His body was primarily royal blue, with gold as a secondary color. He also had several silver accents and an unknown symbol painted in yellowish-gold on his forehead. His eyes were a vibrant blue, and he had golden wings on his back, indicating his alternate flight mode. After his true color was revealed, Sentinel adopted a more combat-oriented combat form, in which his feet became thrusters, his wings became missile launchers, and his arms became blasters. A battle mask, consisting of parts of his head and helmet, appeared on his head.

His arm blasters differ: the right one can extend and take the form of a claw. In combat mode, the arm contracts into a brisynchron and retracts into a cannon. His left arm carries a double-barreled wrist pistol and an energon shield. Due to the shield's special features, it also carries a double-barreled wrist pistol from which an energon shield extends, though both configurations can only be used separately.

After he glued himself back together, he survived. And after Megatron ripped out his T-cog, Sentinel noticeably shrank in size. The gold detailing had almost disappeared, leaving only the hip plates, shoulder segments, and helmet. At the same time, the gold had darkened and been scorched. A chunk had broken off one of his wings, and the jet engines in his legs weren't working and he couldn't retract them, making it very difficult for him to walk. His helmet, body, and servos (arms) were scorched and missing some of their plates. His fingers were scorched, making it painful to touch. His royal blue body had become dull and dirty. More of the formerly white, now gray, details had appeared.
